The Mt Sun Brew Team is gearing up for Hop Harvest 2007, and we are calling
on you to conjure up a brand new recipe to help us pay homage to the almighty hop!

Our first ever homebrew contest proved that the homebrew community has a lot to offer when it comes to exciting and innovative beer. It’s time for us to tap that resource once again, as we prepare to unleash a brand new hop-bomb for this year’s line up.

We are asking you to design and brew an ale that showcases your skill and appreciation for flavorful, unique, and hoppy brews. The Mountain Sun Brewers will then collect all the entries and choose the beer that we feel exemplifies the spirit of Hop Harvest.

It will be a relatively informal judging process that will reward taste and creativity over adherence to style guidelines. The winning brewer will then have the opportunity to a join a Mountain Sun Brewer, and whip up a six to ten barrel batch of his or her brew on the Mountain Sun system or Southern Sun system.

This beer will accompany our line up of original and guest beers during October’s Hop Harvest 2007. The winning brewer will also receive a fifty- dollar Hop Harvest bar tab.

Rules:
1) The beer must showcase hops
2) Please keep the beer at 8% alcohol or under, as we already have a large
selection of imperials.
3) All entries should be delivered to the Southern Sun Pub on Saturday August
4th or Saturday August 11th, from 1-3:00 PM. For each entry, the equivalent of
three 12oz bottles are required. Each bottle must be accompanied by a Hop
Harvest 2007 entry form*.
4) Participants must have no professional brewing experience
5) In the interest of fairness, we will not be able to honor requests to use our
house yeast.
